Jenkins Night builds

The most recent builds of Smalltalk/X 6.2.5ϐ jv-branch are available at:

​https://swing.fit.cvut.cz/jenkins/job/stx_jv/.

Do not download file named *build_tree - this contains full build tree and useful only for core developers

Installation instructions

1. Read Section Requirements below, especially if you run 64bit Linux!
2. Download latest Smalltalk/X archive for your platform:
3. Uncompress downloaded archive to whatever/directory/you/want. It will create directory whatever/directory/you/want/smalltalkx-jv-branch-6.2.3b_<date>_<platform id>_x86, <platform id> is either win32 or linux-gnu.
4. Run Smalltalk/X development environment using <install-dir>/bin/stx or <install-dir>/bin/stx.bat if running on Windows

Requirements

Linux

Should run on almost any modern Linux distribution. It requires GLIBC 2.11 or newer. Tested on:

• Ubuntu 11.04
• Fedora 13
• openSUSE 11.3
• Debian 5.0.1
• Linux Mint 12 / Linux Mint 13

64bit Linux

For 64bit linux, you have to install 32bit libraries as Smalltalk/X is 32bit application. On debian based distributions, you may install them by

apt-get install ia32-libs

or

apt-get install ia32-libs-multiarch

Windows

Should run on Windows XP or better. Tested on:

• Windows XP
• Windows 7
